Ø32.75 mm HSS metal drill bit – Morse taper MT4
Product description and key benefits
The Ø32.75 mm HSS metal drill bit with an MT4 Morse taper is designed for industrial conditions where secure toolholding determines hole quality. The self-holding MT4 taper eliminates tool slippage even under full cutting torque. The Ø32.75 Morse taper drill bit is used in steel fabrication plants, industrial machinery service shops, and maintenance departments.
Key benefits of the Ø32.75 mm metal drill bit
- Secure MT4 taper mounting — the self-holding taper conforming to DIN 345 transmits cutting torque without intermediate components — no drill chuck is required
- HSS steel resistant to temperatures up to 600°C — the cutting edge retains its working hardness at the cutting speeds recommended for structural steels and cast iron
- Flute length 185 mm — enables drilling through holes in components up to 175 mm thick without extensions
- Self-centering 118° geometry — eliminates spot drilling on flat surfaces — saves time in batch production
- Diameter tolerance class h8 — the predrilled hole is ready for reaming to H7 without an additional boring bar pass
- Full interchangeability according to DIN 345 — identical taper dimensions regardless of manufacturer — the drill can be replaced without adjusting the machine
The Ø32.75 Morse taper drill is chosen for heavy-duty hole machining in machine building, ship repair yards, and valve and fitting factories. Typical applications: holes in end plates, bearing end shields, and drive components. Hole tolerance class H12 (Ø32.750–Ø33.000 mm); tighter fits are achieved by boring.

Minimum machine tool power
The Ø32.75 mm drill requires a drilling machine with at least 2.2 kW of power and power spindle feed. Stability is difficult to maintain with manual feed — uneven pressure leads to vibration and accelerated cutting edge wear. A box-column or radial drilling machine is recommended.

Frequently asked questions about the Ø32.75 mm drill bit
When drilling S355 steel with a Ø32.75 mm drill, the torque is approximately 81 Nm. This requires a drilling machine with a minimum power rating of 2.0 kW and power spindle feed.
For a drilling machine with an MT5 spindle: MT4→MT5 sleeve. For a smaller MT3 spindle: MT4→MT3 sleeve (check that the operating load does not exceed the socket capacity). For removal: MT4 drill drift.
Depth greater than 3×D (98 mm): reduce feed by 30–50%, retract every 1×D, and use a 6–8% emulsion at a minimum flow rate of 6 l/min. Peck drilling prevents chips from jamming in the flutes.
