What is the process of repair with a thread repair kit

Thread repair kit how to use it?

The operation of removing the residue from the hole is the most difficult of the operations. If a thread remover has broken in a 3-blade hole so that 3 chip grooves are visible, we can use a thread remover for this purpose. When there is a screw or drill bit left in the reconditioned hole then we can use screw punchers for broken screws. To do this, we first plan the surface of the broken tool, then drill a hole in it and use the punches, which screw into the drilled hole in the broken tool and then clamp into it. After cleaning the hole, we can proceed to enlarge the hole, by drilling with a cylindrical drill, according to DIN 338, which is a classic cylindrical shank drill. We check the diameter of the hole we have to drill from the v-coil company's catalog table. After drilling the hole and adjusting it to the required diameter, we can start threading.

For the threading operation we use a special tapping tool from the thread repair kit, the description of which says what thread it is designed for but not what thread it actually has. Threading is done by screwing the threader from the thread repair kit with the right side deep into the hole, after about 2 turns after a noticeable resistance, we pull the threader back to the left side to break the chip. This will reduce the resistance to threading and allow further threading. This operation is repeated until the required depth is threaded. The next step is just to screw the thread insert included in the spring-shaped thread repair kit into the hole. A special notch is used to screw the insert into the hole, which is screwed down the hole and after the insert is fully screwed in, the notch is cut off at the point of its notch.
