Die M30x2 HSS DIN 22 568 – fine threading on large cross sections
The M30x2 threading die is a round die for cutting external fine threads with a diameter of 30 mm and a pitch of 2 mm. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC according to DIN 22 568, it provides high dimensional accuracy in large-scale applications. The M30x2 metric die is designed for machining structural steels with a tensile strength of up to 800 MPa and light alloys.

The die is used in heavy industry, large machinery repairs, and steel structure production. Tolerance class 6g ensures easy assembly with 6H nuts. Professional machine shops use the M30x2 die in industrial engine overhauls, machine shaft machining, and the production of components exposed to extreme loads in heavy industry and mining.
Frequently asked questions
The fine pitch of 2 mm provides 50 percent more thread turns than the standard pitch of 3 mm, resulting in significantly higher mechanical connection strength, better vibration resistance, and a larger load-bearing surface at the same thread engagement length.
The rod outside diameter should be 29.80-29.92 mm for tolerance class 6g according to DIN 22 568. Chamfer the end of the rod at 45° over a length of 7 mm to prevent damage to the first cutting edges.
Due to the large diameter of 30 mm and the fine pitch of 2 mm, machine threading using a holder with a lever or a torque-controlled drive is recommended. Manual cutting with these parameters requires exceptionally high force and may result in reduced thread quality.
