It is suitable for cutting threads on critical components requiring maximum leak tightness. Due to the unusual combination, threading requires the highest level of operator skill, very secure clamping, and intensive lubrication with high-quality products specifically intended for ultra-fine threads.
Frequently asked questions
Prepare a rod (diameter 40.85-40.9 mm) with a carefully machined chamfer. Clamp it very securely to eliminate any vibration. Keep the die strictly perpendicular, making one full turn forward followed by half a turn backward to break the chips. With an ultra-fine pitch of 1 mm, check perpendicularity very frequently and lubricate every turn to ensure profile quality.
An ultra-fine pitch requires the most intensive lubrication. Use high-quality threading oils, applied generously before every turn. With a diameter of 41 mm and a pitch of 1 mm, a very large number of chips is generated; lubricant must be present at all times to keep the process running smoothly and protect the cutting edges under extreme loads.
An ultra-fine pitch generates an extremely large number of chips per unit length. At the slightest increase in resistance, immediately unscrew the die completely and clean the flutes very thoroughly with compressed air or a brass brush. Check the rod diameter with a micrometer (tolerances are very tight for ultra-fine threads). Resume with the highest possible reversing frequency (every 0.75-1 turns) and a fresh, generous application of the highest-quality lubricant.
