Class 6g provides general-purpose accuracy with a clearance fit that allows easy installation of nuts while maintaining sufficient strength. It is the most common standard in heavy industry requiring ultra-precise connections at very large diameters.
Chamfer the edge of the shaft at 45°, secure the workpiece in a specialized fixture that prevents any vibration, and guide the die perpendicularly. Due to the very large diameter and ultra-fine pitch, two-person operation or a powered die holder is required. Apply grease generously after each turn.
This tool is designed for threading structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 800 MPa and gray cast iron. Do not use it on materials with a hardness exceeding 40 HRC.
