M26X2 metric die made of high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC in accordance with DIN 22568 provides stable performance under workshop conditions. The designation 6g defines a general-purpose precision grade with assembly clearance that allows nuts to be installed without difficulty. It is the most common standard in mechanical applications and machinery manufacturing.
Chamfer the edge of the rod at 45°, then secure it firmly in a vise and guide the die perpendicular to it. Turn with even pressure, regularly reversing the tool half a turn and applying lubricant to protect the cutting edges.
