M33X1.5 HSS die, DIN 22 568 – fine threading on industrial diameters
The M33X1.5 threading die is a tool for cutting external metric fine threads with a diameter of 33 mm and a pitch of 1.5 mm. Made of high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC in accordance with DIN 22 568, it provides dimensional repeatability in large-scale applications. The M33X1.5 metric die is designed for machining structural steels with a tensile strength of up to 800 MPa and nonferrous metals.

The M33X1.5 metric fine thread is used in heavy machinery manufacturing, repairs of large gearboxes and engines, mining machinery, and wherever increased connection strength is required at large diameters under exposure to intense vibration and fluctuating loads.
According to DIN 22 568, the rod diameter for tolerance 6g should be 32.80-32.92 mm. Chamfer the rod end at 45° over a length of 7-8 mm to prevent damage to the leading cutting edges and facilitate starting the thread.
Due to the large diameter, machine threading using an axially compensating holder or a torque-controlled drive at 8-12 rpm is mandatory for steel. Reversing half a turn after every two full turns, applying ample threading oil, and secure clamping to eliminate vibration are recommended.
