This tool is designed for threading structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 800 MPa and nonferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and gray cast iron. Do not use on materials with a hardness exceeding 40 HRC.
Chamfer the edge of the rod at 45°, secure the workpiece to eliminate vibration, and position the die perpendicular to the axis. Apply light pressure, reverse half a turn after each turn, and apply plenty of specialized lubricant for precision machining.
