The M20x0.75 metric die is an advanced round die for cutting external threads with a diameter of 20 mm and an ultra-fine pitch of 0.75 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC, compliant with DIN 22 568, it provides the highest dimensional precision in the most demanding applications. The rod outside diameter should be 19.85-19.92 mm for tolerance class 6g according to DIN 22 568. Chamfer the end of the rod at 45° over a length of 5 mm before starting to cut the thread.
Chamfer the end of the rod at an angle of 45°, secure the workpiece in a vise or chuck that eliminates vibration, and guide the die perpendicular to the axis. Reverse half a turn after each full revolution and apply generous lubrication with specialized precision threading oil.
