M22X2 HSS DIN 22 568 die – fine threading on large industrial diameters
The M22X2 threading die is a professional tool for cutting external fine threads with a diameter of 22 mm and a pitch of 2 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC in accordance with DIN 22 568, it provides dimensional repeatability in demanding applications. The M22X2 metric die is designed for machining structural steels with a tensile strength of up to 800 MPa and light alloys.

Frequently asked questions
M22X2 has a finer pitch than standard M22X2.5, meaning more threads per unit of length. This provides higher mechanical strength, better resistance to loosening, and a larger load-bearing area at the same engagement length.
According to DIN 22 568 for tolerance 6g, the rod diameter should be 21.80-21.92 mm. Chamfer the rod end at 45° over a length of 5-6 mm to facilitate cutting edge engagement and prevent damage to the first threads.
Due to the large diameter of 22 mm, machine threading or the use of a lever-operated holder is strongly recommended. Manual cutting requires considerable physical force and may cause uneven guidance, adversely affecting thread quality and perpendicular alignment.
