M18X0.75 HSS DIN 22 568 die – extremely fine threading on large diameters
The M18X0.75 threading die is an exceptional tool for cutting external threads with a diameter of 18 mm and an extremely fine pitch of 0.75 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) with a hardness of 64 HRC in accordance with DIN 22 568, it provides dimensional precision in the most demanding applications. The M18X0.75 metric die is designed for machining structural steels with a tensile strength of up to 800 MPa and nonferrous metals.

An extremely fine pitch at a larger diameter is used in high-pressure hydraulic applications, precision equipment, and wherever maximum strength, leak tightness, and resistance to loosening with the shortest possible thread engagement length are priorities.
The rod should have a diameter of 17.85-17.92 mm in accordance with tolerance 6g per DIN 22 568. Chamfer the rod end at 45° over a length of 4-5 mm and remove all burrs before starting the cut.
Due to the extremely fine pitch and larger diameter, threading with a lever-operated holder or machine drive is recommended. Manual cutting requires considerable force and precise guidance and may result in an uneven thread profile.
