Die M22X1 HSS DIN 22 568 – ultra-fine threading on larger diameters
The M22X1 metric die is a specialized tool for cutting external threads with a diameter of 22 mm and an ultra-fine pitch of 1 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC, compliant with DIN 22 568, ensures the highest dimensional precision in demanding applications. The M22X1 round die is intended for use in structural steels with tensile strengths up to 800 MPa and nonferrous metals.

Frequently asked questions
The M22X1 ultra-fine thread is used in high-pressure hydraulic systems above 350 bar, precision regulating valves, medical equipment, and joints requiring maximum leak tightness and strength with minimal assembly space.
The rod outside diameter should be 21.82-21.92 mm in accordance with tolerance 6g per DIN 22 568. Chamfer the end of the rod at 45° over a length of 5-6 mm and remove all burrs and surface irregularities before starting to cut the thread.
Due to the ultra-fine pitch at a diameter of 22 mm, recommended speeds for steel are 8-12 rpm using a holder with a lever or a machine drive. Reversing half a turn every two full turns and using generous lubrication with specialized threading oil are mandatory.
