Chamfer the edge of the workpiece at 45°, then secure it firmly in a lathe chuck or specialized vise and guide the die perpendicular to the axis. Turn with controlled pressure, regularly reversing half a turn and applying plenty of threading lubricant.
The tool is designed for machining structural steels with a tensile strength of up to 800 MPa, as well as gray cast iron and aluminum alloys. The maximum workpiece material hardness is 40 HRC.
The designation 6g specifies a general-purpose accuracy grade with clearance in the joint that allows nuts to be installed without difficulty. It is the most common standard in machinery manufacturing and large structures.
