M27X1 HSS DIN 22 568 die – ultra-precise threading on large cross sections
The M27X1 threading die is a specialized cutting tool for producing external threads with a diameter of 27 mm and an ultra-fine pitch of 1 mm. Manufactured from HSS steel hardened to 64 HRC, compliant with DIN 22 568, it ensures dimensional repeatability in demanding applications. The M27X1 metric die is designed for cutting threads in structural steels with a tensile strength of up to 800 MPa and light alloys.

The M27X1 ultra-fine thread is used in high-pressure hydraulic systems operating above 300 bar, precision regulating valves, aircraft components, and connections requiring maximum leak tightness and strength with minimal installation space.
The outside diameter of the rod should be 26.82-26.92 mm for tolerance class 6g. Clamp the rod rigidly in a lathe chuck or machine vise, chamfer the end at 45° over a length of 6 mm, and remove rust and dirt from the surface.
The ultra-fine pitch combined with the large diameter requires a specialized threading oil or a pressurized cooling and lubricating emulsion. Lubrication lowers the cutting temperature, reduces friction, and extends tool life by up to 90 percent compared with dry machining.
