The M22x2 left-hand HSS 800 metric die is an advanced round die for cutting external left-hand threads with a diameter of 22 mm and a fine pitch of 2 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC with designation 800, compliant with DIN 22 568, it ensures high dimensional accuracy in demanding applications. The M22x2 left-hand HSS 800 threading die is intended for use in structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 800 MPa and nonferrous alloys.

Mechanical workshops use the M22x2 left-hand HSS 800 die in the production of industrial spindles rotating clockwise, mechanical transmission components, and wherever protection against self-loosening is required together with maximum joint strength under extreme vibration.

Combining the left-hand direction with a fine pitch of 2 mm provides dual protection: the left-hand direction prevents loosening during clockwise rotation, while the fine pitch increases the number of thread turns compared with a standard pitch, resulting in higher strength and a larger load-bearing surface.
The tool is designed for structural steels with tensile strengths up to 800 MPa and nonferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and gray cast iron. The maximum workpiece material hardness is 37 HRC.
Prepare a bar of the appropriate diameter, chamfer the end, and secure it firmly. Guide the die perpendicular to the axis, turning counterclockwise, and back off half a turn every two full turns. Apply plenty of threading oil and avoid excessive pressure during cutting.
