Die M14x1 left-hand HSS DIN 22 568 – left-hand extra-fine threading on medium cross sections
The M14x1 left-hand threading die is a specialized round die for cutting external left-hand threads with a diameter of 14 mm and an ultra-fine pitch of 1 mm. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC in accordance with DIN 22 568, it ensures high dimensional accuracy in applications requiring reverse-direction threads. The M14x1 left-hand metric die is designed for machining structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 800 MPa and nonferrous alloys.

Frequently asked questions
Combining an extra-fine pitch of 1 mm with a left-hand direction provides triple protection: the left-hand thread prevents loosening during clockwise rotation, the extra-fine pitch increases the number of thread turns for maximum strength, and the increased friction surface further resists self-loosening of the joint.
The rod outside diameter should be 13.82-13.92 mm for tolerance class 6g according to DIN 22 568. Chamfer the end of the rod at 45° over a length of 3-4 mm before starting to cut the thread.
