Frequently asked questions
Prepare the rod (diameter 41.6-41.65 mm) with a 45° chamfer. Clamp it securely to eliminate vibration. Turn the die counterclockwise (to the left), making two turns forward, then reverse half a turn to the right to remove chips. Check perpendicular alignment regularly when cutting a left-hand metric fine thread.
Use threading oils or cooling and lubricating emulsions, applied generously before starting and every 2-3 turns. A left-hand metric fine thread with a diameter of 42 mm requires intensive lubrication – a pitch of 1.5 mm generates a large number of chips, requiring a continuous supply of lubricant for a smooth thread-cutting process.
