Die M76x1.5 left-hand HSS DIN 22 568 – ultra-fine left-hand thread of extreme dimensions
The M76x1.5 left-hand die is a round tool of the highest specialization, made of high-speed steel (HSS) with a hardness of 64 HRC, combining an extremely large diameter of 76 mm with an ultra-fine pitch of 1.5 mm and a left-hand thread. This absolutely unique combination is used exclusively in the most critical industrial applications, where massive rotating components require a left-hand thread to prevent unscrewing, while the fine pitch must also provide maximum vibration resistance. Compliance with DIN 22 568 and a 6g tolerance ensure proper mating with 6H left-hand nuts. This tool is intended exclusively for the most specialized workshops handling unique heavy industry applications.
Main advantages of the M76x1.5 left-hand fine-thread die
- Left-hand fine thread at a diameter of 76 mm – an absolutely unique combination providing double protection: left-hand direction against unscrewing and fine pitch against vibration-induced loosening
- Diameter of 76 mm for the largest rotating machinery – the size makes the tool suitable for the largest turbine shafts, large grinding machines, and industrial machinery of extreme dimensions
- HSS steel hardness of 64 HRC – ensures long service life despite the extremely large number of thread turns when cutting left-hand threads in steels up to 800 MPa
- Tolerance class 6g according to ISO – medium accuracy with controlled clearance ensures a proper fit in critical left-hand mechanisms of the largest dimensions
- Solid round construction – one-piece construction provides maximum rigidity when cutting ultra-fine left-hand threads of extreme diameters
The M76x1.5 left-hand die is a tool for the very most specialized workshops handling unique applications in the power industry, large turbines, the largest industrial grinding machines, and critical structures of extreme dimensions. Due to the unique combination (left-hand + fine thread + extreme diameter), threading requires a top-grade powered drive, holders with maximum rigidity, intensive automatic lubrication, and a team of operators with the highest qualifications and experience in left-hand threads.
Frequently asked questions
Prepare the rod (diameter 75.6-75.65 mm) with a chamfer. A powered drive capable of counterclockwise operation is mandatory. Rotate to the left (counterclockwise), making one turn forward and half a turn backward (clockwise). With this combination, continuously check perpendicular alignment – an error is unacceptable at these dimensions.
This combination requires the absolute highest level of lubrication. An automatic lubrication system on the machine is mandatory, using the highest-quality threading oils for heavy-duty applications. Manual lubrication is virtually impossible at the required application frequency (every turn or more often).
With this unique combination, problems are extremely serious. Stop the drive immediately at the slightest increase in resistance, and back off in reverse (rotating clockwise). Check all parameters very carefully (diameter, perpendicular alignment, lubrication). Resume with the highest reversing frequency (every 0.75 turn) and fresh lubrication under the supervision of an experienced team.
