The M14x1.25 left-hand metric die is a professional round die for cutting external left-hand threads with a diameter of 14 mm and a fine pitch of 1.25 mm. M14x1.25 has a pitch 0.25 mm greater than M14x1, which means slightly fewer thread turns per unit length. The 1.25 mm pitch is a compromise between the extra-fine 1 mm pitch and the standard 1.5 mm pitch, offering high strength with easier assembly than M14x1.
The tool is designed for structural steels with tensile strengths up to 800 MPa and nonferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and gray cast iron. The maximum workpiece material hardness is 37 HRC.
The rod diameter should be 13.77-13.88 mm in accordance with tolerance 6g per DIN 22 568. Chamfer the end of the rod at 45° over a length of 3-4 mm to facilitate engagement of the first cutting edges of the left-hand die.
