M25x1.5 left-hand HSS die, DIN 22 568 – left-hand fine threading on large cross sections
The M25x1.5 left-hand metric die is a professional round die for cutting external left-hand threads with a diameter of 25 mm and a fine pitch of 1.5 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC, compliant with DIN 22 568, it ensures high dimensional accuracy in applications requiring reverse-direction threads. The M25x1.5 left-hand threading die is intended for use in structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 800 MPa and in nonferrous alloys.

The die is used in rotating machinery, industrial transmissions, and wherever a joint requires dual protection. Tolerance 6g ensures compatibility with 6H left-hand nuts. Professional workshops use the M25x1.5 left-hand die in the production of clockwise-rotating industrial spindles, mechanical transmission components, and wherever protection against self-loosening is required along with high joint strength under extreme vibration.
Frequently asked questions
Combining the left-hand direction with a fine pitch of 1.5 mm provides dual protection: the left-hand direction prevents loosening during clockwise rotation, while the fine pitch increases the number of thread turns compared with a standard pitch, resulting in higher strength and a larger load-bearing surface.
The outside diameter of the rod should be 24.80-24.92 mm in accordance with tolerance 6g per DIN 22 568. Chamfer the end of the rod at 45° over a length of 6 mm before starting to cut the left-hand thread.
Prepare a bar of the appropriate diameter, chamfer the end, and secure it firmly. Guide the die perpendicular to the axis, turning counterclockwise, and back off half a turn every two full turns. Apply plenty of threading oil and avoid excessive pressure during cutting.
