The M24x2 left-hand metric die is a professional round die for cutting external left-hand threads with a diameter of 24 mm and a fine pitch of 2 mm. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) hardened to 64 HRC, compliant with DIN 22 568, it guarantees high dimensional accuracy in applications requiring reverse-direction threads. The M24x2 left-hand threading die is intended for use in structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 800 MPa and nonferrous metals.

Tolerance 6g ensures compatibility with 6H left-hand nuts. Machine shops use the M24x2 left-hand die in the production of industrial spindles rotating clockwise, mechanical transmission components, and wherever protection against self-loosening is required together with high strength under intense vibration.

M24x2 has a fine pitch that is 1 mm smaller than standard M24x3, which means 50 percent more thread turns per unit length. This translates into higher mechanical strength, better vibration resistance, and a larger load-bearing surface for the same thread engagement length.
The tool is designed for structural steels with tensile strengths up to 800 MPa and nonferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and gray cast iron. The maximum workpiece material hardness is 37 HRC.
Chamfer the end of the rod at 45°, secure the workpiece in a vise or chuck that prevents vibration, and keep the die perpendicular to the axis. Use a die stock with a lever or a machine drive, turn counterclockwise instead of clockwise, back off half a turn every two full turns, and apply plenty of threading oil.
