1.2 mm metal drill bit HSS DIN 338 is designed for drilling nominal-size holes in structural steels, cast iron, and nonferrous alloys; in workshop applications, including use as a Ø1.2 mm metal drill bit, it maintains dimensional repeatability within IT12 tolerance grade.
The cutting diameter is 1.2 mm; the 118° point angle ensures smooth entry and even cutting lip loading. Precision-ground helical flutes promote continuous chip evacuation during right-hand cutting. The homogeneous, high-purity high-speed steel (HSS) core maintains cutting edge sharpness and wear resistance. The length corresponds to jobber length according to DIN 338, and the straight shank fits standard chucks. High spindle speeds, micrometer-scale feed, precise clamping, and emulsion or oil mist cooling support process stability — in typical operations for a 1.2 mm metal drill bit. The drill bits are designed for conventional lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines, as well as specialized computer numerical control machine tools.
