How the type B through-hole chamfer pushes chips down the hole
Chips exit at the bottom instead of returning through the thread
The form B chamfer for through holes has a chip breaker at the tip of the tap – an angled cut in the cutting edges. The chip breaker directs the chip down the hole, ahead of the tap tip. The chip curls into a coil, breaks into short pieces and exits the hole on the other side of the workpiece. The threads already cut remain clean because the chip does not pass through them on its way up. The M50x2 tap has a reduced shank according to DIN 374: diameter 36 mm, square size 29 mm.

The manufacturer offers the M50x2 metric fine thread machine tap made from HSSE high-speed steel with 5% added cobalt for the most demanding applications in extreme-duty hydraulics and heavy industry. The M50x2 thread combines a very large diameter of 50 mm with a pitch of 2 mm, providing excellent sealing and high joint strength. The 6H tolerance in accordance with DIN 374 guarantees the dimensional repeatability required in the production of structural components of the largest dimensions.

The M50x2 machine tap is used in the production of hydraulic cylinders with the highest power ratings, large hydraulic presses, and construction machinery. The metric fine thread provides better sealing than a coarse thread at extreme pressures. Cooling with an emulsion containing EP additives at a concentration of 8-10% is recommended.
