Frequently asked questions
This HSS drill bit effectively drills S235 and S355 structural steels with a maximum hardness of 35 HRC, as well as gray cast iron, aluminum, and brass. We advise against use in hardened steels exceeding 35 HRC and in austenitic stainless steel grades.
For large-diameter drill bits, coolant is strongly recommended and practically essential for optimal results. Proper lubrication and cooling can extend tool life by up to 60 percent and significantly improve hole dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
When machining S235 steel, the suggested speed range is 160-230 rpm; for S355 steel, it is 115-175 rpm. Higher rotational speeds cause excessive tool heating and a rapid loss of cutting performance.
