Frequently asked questions
This tool effectively drills S235 and S355 structural steels with a maximum hardness of 35 HRC, as well as cast iron, aluminum alloys, and brass. We advise against use in steels hardened above 35 HRC and high-chromium grades.
Using a coolant emulsion or cutting oil is strongly recommended for larger diameters. This increases tool life by up to 60 percent and improves the accuracy of the resulting holes.
When machining S235 steel, we suggest a setting of 220-300 rpm, while S355 steel requires 180-240 rpm. Exceeding the recommended values leads to excessive temperature rise and cutting edge degradation.
