The 12 mm end mill is a tool for heavy, productive machining: wide slots, large pockets, countertops and structural components in solid wood, MDF, plywood and plastics such as acrylic. It is particularly suitable for roughing, where rapid material removal is essential.
The recommended spindle speed is 13000–16000 rpm and the feed rate is 1716–3456 mm/min, depending on wood hardness. A larger diameter means higher cutting forces, so a spindle with sufficient power and rigid, secure tool clamping are required.
The standard version has an overall length of 75 mm, providing greater rigidity during roughing. The Long version (l1 = 100 mm) provides additional reach for deeper and thicker workpieces, at the cost of slightly greater susceptibility to vibration at maximum overhang.
