Machine Tap G 2 DIN 5156 C HSSE is a professional thread cutter designed for making G2 inch cylindrical pipe threads in through holes. Made of HSSE high-speed steel with cobalt additive, it provides high wear resistance and long service life when machining steel, stainless steel and cast iron.

1. Why is the G2 inch threader 59.6 mm in diameter? G 2 inch how much is mm? And how much is cm?
The question "G 2 inch how many mm" or "G 2 inch how many cm" often arises when selecting tools for pipe threading. Contrary to what you may think, the value of 2 inches(that is, 59.6 mm or 5.96 cm) does not mean the diameter of the thread, but the nominal size of the pipe to which the thread fits. In practice, a 2-inch G thread has an outside diameter of 59.6mm, because G (BSP) pipe threads are designed for pipes with thick walls.
For this reason, always check the thread diameter value in the technical data, and do not convert inches directly to millimeters. In the BSP system, the thread size is a result of the design of the entire installation, not just the nominal dimension.
2. Is the G thread a tapered thread and does it provide tightness?
No. G thread (BSP) is a cylindrical pipe thread, which means that its diameter is constant along its entire length. Unlike tapered threads (designated as R or BSPT), G thread connections are not self-sealing. This means that a G thread does not provide a seal by itself - it requires an additional sealing element, such as a flat gasket, O-ring or plastic washer. Such a sealing method is commonly used in hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial installations.
