ER40 series collets allow clamping of tools with straight shanks in the 3-26 mm range. Each size has a clamping tolerance of 1 mm, providing versatility in tooling selection.
Insert the collet into the nut at an angle, engage its groove with the eccentric lip, and press until it clicks into place. Then fit the nut onto the tool holder and tighten it to the recommended torque using the dedicated wrench.
Individual sizes differ in external dimensions: ER11 measures 11.5×18 mm, ER16 measures 17×28 mm, ER20 measures 21×31 mm, ER25 measures 26×34 mm, ER32 measures 33×40 mm, and ER40 measures 41×46 mm. The size is marked on the collet body in accordance with DIN 6499.
