Frequently asked questions
The ER40 system clamps tools with straight shanks in the 3-26 mm range. Each collet has a tolerance of 1 mm, providing flexibility in selection.
Insert the collet into the nut at an angle, engage the groove with the eccentric retaining ring, and press until it clicks audibly into place. Then fit the nut onto the holder and tighten it with a wrench to the appropriate torque.
Each series has different dimensions: ER11 measures 11.5×18 mm, ER16 measures 17×28 mm, ER20 measures 21×31 mm, ER25 measures 26×34 mm, ER32 measures 33×40 mm, and ER40 measures 41×46 mm. The size designation is marked on the collet body.
