The ER40 system holds tools with straight shanks from 3 mm to 26 mm. Each size has a clamping range of 1 mm, providing flexibility when selecting tooling.
Insert the collet into the nut at an angle, engage its groove with the eccentric retaining ring, and press until it snaps into place. Then fit the nut onto the holder and tighten it to the recommended torque using the designated wrench.
Each size has unique external dimensions: ER11 measures 11.5×18 mm, ER16 measures 17×28 mm, ER20 measures 21×31 mm, ER25 measures 26×34 mm, ER32 measures 33×40 mm, and ER40 measures 41×46 mm. The size is marked on the collet body in accordance with DIN 6499.
