Frequently asked questions
ER40 collets allow straight-shank tools with diameters in the 3-26 mm range to be held. The clamping tolerance of each size is 1 mm, providing flexibility when assembling tooling sets.
Insert the collet into the nut at an angle, engage the groove with the eccentric retainer, and press until it snaps into place. After fitting the nut onto the holder, tighten it to the recommended torque using the appropriate wrench.
Individual sizes are identified by their external dimensions: ER11 measures 11.5×18 mm, ER16 measures 17×28 mm, ER20 measures 21×31 mm, ER25 measures 26×34 mm, ER32 measures 33×40 mm, and ER40 measures 41×46 mm. Each collet is marked in accordance with DIN 6499.
