Frequently asked questions
The ER40 system allows tools with straight shanks in the 3-26 mm range to be held. Each collet size offers a clamping range of 1 mm.
Insert the collet into the nut at an angle, engage the groove with the eccentric retaining lip, and press until it snaps into place. After fitting the nut onto the holder, tighten it to the recommended torque using the dedicated wrench.
Sizes differ in their external dimensions: ER11 measures 11.5×18 mm, ER16 measures 17×28 mm, ER20 measures 21×31 mm, ER25 measures 26×34 mm, ER32 measures 33×40 mm, and ER40 measures 41×46 mm. The size is marked on the collet body in accordance with DIN 6499.
