The 16 ER 1.5 ISO MTA thread insert is a full metric profile tool made of MTA grade carbide for turning threads with a pitch of 1.5 mm. The insert for metric right-hand external threads with a complete outline in accordance with the ISO standard performs the standard M10 thread and metric fine threads M12x1.5, M14x1.5, M16x1.5, M18x1.5 and all others with an identical pitch. The tool cuts a complete 60-degree thread profile including coil tips and outside diameter alignment in one operation without requiring additional finishing passes. The MTA grade carbide has good wear resistance and dimensional stability of the cutting edge when machining steel materials on a lathe in high-volume production conditions.
