Frequently asked questions
The 30 mm flute length allows significantly deeper cuts than the standard version (22 mm), while the 100 mm overall length provides additional reach. In practice, cutting depth can extend to the full cutting edge length, preferably reached in several passes to ensure efficient chip evacuation.
The cutting parameters are the same as for the 8 mm end mill: 14000–18000 rpm and a feed rate of 1232–2592 mm/min, depending on wood hardness. For deep milling and greater overhang, we recommend a smaller depth per pass and steady feeding to limit vibration.
Choose the long version for deep pockets, thick countertops, grooves, and fronts, and wherever the holder must remain well away from the material. For shallow grooves and applications requiring maximum rigidity, the standard 8 mm end mill is the better choice.
