Ø12 mm Long wood end mill – robust single-flute solid carbide (VHM) with extended reach
Ø12 mm Long wood end mill is the strongest tool in the series, in a version with an overall length of 100 mm. It combines the high productivity of the 12 mm diameter with the reach needed to machine thick workpieces and deeply recessed features. The single ground cutting edge from manufacturer Horn with upcut geometry ensures a clean edge and efficient upward evacuation of large chip volumes, even from deep pockets.

The Ø12 mm Long carbide wood end mill is suitable for machining thick countertops, stairs, structural components and deep pockets in substantial workpieces. The long overhang requires rigid clamping and a spindle with sufficient power, so heavy cuts should be made in several passes.
If you need maximum rigidity for shallower roughing operations, choose the standard 12 mm wood end mill. The Long version is a tool for the thickest and deepest applications.
Frequently asked questions
Choose the Long version (overall length of 100 mm) for thick countertops, stairs, structural components and deep pockets where extended reach is required. The standard 12 mm end mill (l1 = 75 mm) is more rigid and better suited to shallower roughing.
The parameters are the same as for the 12 mm end mill: 13000–16000 rpm and a feed rate of 1716–3456 mm/min, depending on wood hardness. With a long overhang and heavy cuts, we recommend a smaller depth per pass, rigid clamping and a spindle with sufficient power.
The tool machines softwood, hardwood, MDF panels, plywood and plastics, including acrylic and PVC. Its large diameter and extended reach make it best suited to substantial, thick workpieces and productive roughing.
