Ø10 mm Long wood end mill – single-flute solid carbide (VHM) with extended reach
Ø10 mm Long wood end mill is a solid carbide (VHM) tool with an overall length of 100 mm, designed for efficient machining of deep and thick workpieces on CNC machines. The extended body reaches the bottom of deep pockets and allows through cuts in thick panels. The single ground cutting edge from manufacturer Horn with upcut geometry ensures a clean surface and reliable upward chip evacuation.

The Ø10 mm Long carbide wood end mill is suitable for machining thick countertops, stairs and deep pockets, as well as through cutting of thick panels. The high positive rake angle reduces cutting forces, while the extended reach allows machining of workpieces inaccessible to a standard end mill.
If you need maximum rigidity for shallower work, choose the standard 10 mm wood end mill. The Long version is a tool for deep milling and applications requiring extended reach.
Frequently asked questions
Choose the Long version (overall length of 100 mm) for deep pockets, thick countertops, stairs and through cutting of thick panels. The standard 10 mm end mill (l1 = 75 mm) is more rigid and better suited to shallower precision work.
The parameters are the same as for the 10 mm end mill: 14000–18000 rpm and a feed rate of 1540–3240 mm/min, depending on wood hardness. With a long overhang, we recommend a smaller depth per pass and retracting the tool every 2–3 cm to facilitate chip removal from the deep slot.
The tool machines softwood, hardwood, MDF panels, plywood and plastics, including acrylic and PVC. Its extended reach makes it particularly suitable for thick workpieces and deep pockets where a standard end mill is too short.
