90-degree taperedcountersinks can be used to shape a hole at an angle and enlarge its diameter. They are available in cylindrical shank and Morse taper shank versions. Tapered countersinks themselves are also often called chamfers, ledges or deburrers. The names are different but the application is the same. The main use of countersinks is the modification of an existing hole, that is, its countersinking with a conical shape. The countersink is used so that a screw can be screwed into the hole and the screw head does not protrude beyond the surface of the hole. This hiding of the screw head helps when working between large or small flat surfaces, for example, for plates. Another possible application is chamfering a hole or other face. Chamfering of a hole is used to get rid of burrs or protrusions on the surface after machining. For such tasks conical countersinks are ideal, they can work in holes as well as chamfer the side surfaces of plates getting rid of burrs and leaving the surfaces in perfect condition.

Choose a conical countersink for metal in the appropriate version

Taperedcountersinks come in a variety of both shank and blade versions. As for the shank, we can meet countersinks with a cylindrical shank as well as Morse taper with a fin. As for the blades, we can find countersinks in either 3-shank or multi-shank versions. The 3-blade version has the designation C-cylindrical shank, D-conical Morse shank with fin. These are currently the most popular countersinks on the market and the most commonly used. In addition, we can meet countersinks made of HSS and cobalt high-speed steel with 5% cobalt, which are suitable for machining stainless steel as well as cast iron.

Another division of countersinks is their angle. There are conical countersinks in three angle versions as standard: 90 degrees (the most popular ), 60 degrees and, less commonly, 120 degrees. It should also be noted that 90-degree tapered countersinks do not have a pilot.
