The advantage of the drill bits is also the possibility of their regeneration - resharpening. Making a hole is carried out only on its periphery. The entire material is not processed. This has the effect of reducing the amount of chips created, reducing power consumption and reducing tool wear. Trepanning drills fi 50 for metallurgy are also called trepanning drills or crown drills. They have a metric shank of ¾ inch (19.05 mm) with the option to change to fi 18 mm. Drills are mounted directly in the collet or by using a special adapter for Morse taper.
