Die M10 HSSE 6g – specialized stainless steel threading
The M10 HSSE die is an advanced tool dedicated to threading stainless steels and difficult-to-machine materials. Made of cobalt high-speed steel HSSE, M10 threading die meets the requirements of DIN 22568 and ensures precise cutting of external threads in austenitic and ferritic steels and heat-resistant alloys to a 6g tolerance.
Outstanding properties of the M10 HSSE die
- Cobalt-alloyed HSSE steel increases heat resistance to 600°C and hardness to 67 HRC
- Special cutting edge geometry prevents chip clogging during threading
- Manufacturer Fanar guarantees the highest quality of this Polish-made tool valued by professionals
- The 6g tolerance ensures precise mating with nuts in industrial installations
- Tool life increased by 200-300 percent compared with standard HSS dies
Mechanics working in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries value the M10 HSSE metric die for its reliability under the most demanding conditions. Particularly recommended for toolrooms servicing sanitary installations, process equipment, and structures exposed to corrosion. Choose a tool from a Polish manufacturer that delivers professional results when threading stainless steel.
Frequently asked questions
Stainless steel has high ductility and a tendency to work-harden during machining, causing rapid wear of standard HSS dies. HSSE with a cobalt content of 5-8 percent has a higher hardness of 67 HRC and increased resistance to the high temperatures generated in the cutting zone. As a result, the die retains sharp cutting edges longer under difficult machining conditions.
When threading stainless steel with an M10 die, use a cutting speed of 2-4 meters per minute, corresponding to approximately 60-120 rpm at a diameter of 10 mm. Coolant or special threading pastes with EP additives must be used. Work in a cycle of one turn forward and half a turn back for effective chip breaking. Avoid excessive pressure, which can cause work hardening.
Signs of die wear include increased resistance during threading, a rough thread surface, and difficulty screwing nuts onto the finished thread. Visual inspection may reveal rounded cutting edges, chipping, or a buildup of adhered material. If threading requires more force or produces malformed threads, the die should be replaced to maintain the quality of threaded joints.
