M9 INOX machine tap – general-purpose HSSE tool according to ISO 529
In this product line, manufacturer Fra offers the M9 INOX machine tap compliant with ISO 529, with optimized cutting geometry for metric threads with a diameter of 9 mm. The tool meets ISO 529 requirements and provides the 6H thread tolerance class required for export production of mechanical and precision components. HSSE steel with 5% cobalt ensures a hardness of 66 HRC and resistance to temperatures up to 650°C in the cutting zone. Form C with straight flutes provides versatility for through and blind holes in stainless steels.

Frequently asked questions
The M9 ISO 529 HSSE tap is suitable for 304 and 316 austenitic stainless steels, structural steels up to 800 MPa, ductile cast iron, and aluminum and brass alloys. It is not recommended for hardened steels above 45 HRC.
The nominal tap drill diameter for the M9 thread is 7.75 mm. The hole tolerance zone should be within the range of 7.65–7.85 mm. A hole at the lower tolerance limit produces a fuller thread profile, while a hole at the upper limit reduces tapping torque.
