Professional machine tap, type M 8x1, for cutting metric fine threads. Manufactured in accordance with DIN 2181, it features a 60° angle, an ISO2-6H finished thread tolerance class, and a type D chamfer. It is suitable for tapping components made of very hard and difficult-to-machine materials, such as unalloyed (carbon) steel, structural steel, metals, nonferrous metals (copper, aluminum), metal alloys (bronze, brass), and thermosetting plastics. The metric fine thread machine taps we offer are made of advanced HSS high-speed steel with cutting properties significantly superior to those of conventional tool steel. Above all, HSS taps provide greater productivity and accuracy. They allow machining at high rotational speeds, which generate high temperatures. Even under such demanding conditions, the tap cutting edges retain high cutting efficiency and wear resistance. They are also resistant to other mechanical damage (breakage, dulling, chipping). This extends service life and reduces overall machining costs.
