Drill10 for Hardox Hardened Steel - with brazed carbide insert (VHM) on a steel body, 118-degree tip angle and h8 cylindrical shank; designed for drilling in hard-to-machine steels.
Construction includes a reinforced core for rigidity and smooth chip grooves that facilitate chip evacuation at elevated cutting temperatures. A fine-grained VHM insert reduces edge micro-crushing, which stabilizes life in demanding applications. The blade's characteristics support centering without drilling; the 118-degree geometry maintains moderate axial forces and constant feed, which is conducive to driving the drill into hardened steel.
