Carbide insert fanar's 16 IR 14 W BMA lathe is a specialized lathe insert for precision turning of inch threads with Whitworth and BSP (G) profile with an outline angle of 55 degrees. The full outline profile guarantees compliance with standards and high surface quality, and the "14 W" geometry is dedicated to diameters where the thread has 14 turns per inch (14 TPI).

Made of BMA grade carbide, the lathe insert provides wear resistance and process stability in machining carbon steels, alloy steels, cast iron and stainless steels. Designed for internal right-hand turning knives with a 16 IR socket (Torx screw mounting), which ensures rigidity and repeatability of machining.

  • Whitworth BSW threads - 55 degrees, BS 84 standard; 14 TPI variants depending on the nominal diameter.
