Die UNS No10-40 is a professional tool for cutting external threads with an extremely fine pitch in the American numbered-size system. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) to DIN 22568, it cuts threads with a diameter of No 10 (4.83 mm / 0.190 inch) and 40 threads per inch.

Frequently asked questions
Size No 10 has a diameter of 4.83 mm (0.190 inch). The numbered-size system uses the formula: diameter = 0.060 + (number × 0.013) inch. For No 10: 0.060 + (10 × 0.013) = 0.190 inch = 4.83 mm.
UNS (Unified National Special) designates a thread with a nonstandard combination of diameter and pitch. For size No 10, the standard values are: UNC 24 TPI, UNF 32 TPI. A pitch of 40 TPI falls outside the standard series and is therefore classified as UNS.
The Unified family also includes: UNC – the coarse-thread version, UNF – the fine-thread version, UNEF – the extra-fine-thread version, and UN – constant-pitch series: 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 28, or 32 threads per inch.
