Die UNC 1 3/4-5 HSS – the largest standard inch thread for heavy industry
Die UNC 1 3/4-5 is designed to produce external threads with a diameter of 1 3/4 inch (44.45 mm) and 5 threads per inch. This is one of the largest sizes in the UNC system, used in structures subjected to extreme loads. HSS ensures reliability when machining very large diameters.

1 3/4 inch equals 44.45 mm. Conversion factor: 1 inch = 25.4 mm. Example calculation: 25.4 mm × 1.75 = 44.45 mm.
The Unified family also includes: UNF – fine threads, UNEF – extra fine threads, UNS – special threads with nonstandard dimensions, and UN – constant-pitch threads: 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 28, or 32 threads per inch.
UNC has a coarser pitch and fewer threads per inch than UNF. A 1 3/4 inch UNC thread has 5 threads per inch, while a 1 3/4 inch UNF thread has 12 threads per inch. Inch thread gauges are used for identification.
