Carbide insert 16 ER 14 W MTA Horn is a lathe insert for precision turning of external threads with a 55-degree Whitworth profile. The full outline profile of 14 turns per inch (14 TPI) forms the base and tip of the coil, ensuring compliance with BSP (G) requirements and high surface quality in installation and fastener applications.
The 14 W geometry is dedicated to BSP diameters with 14 TPI pitch, such as G 3/8", G 1/2", G 5/8", G 3/4", G 7/8". The PVD-coated carbide body guarantees process stability and wear resistance in machining carbon and alloy steels, cast iron, stainless steels and non-ferrous metals. The 16 ER size combines good accessibility to the workpiece with clamping rigidity.
Carbide insert works with right-hand turning knives for external threads (SER-type holders for the 16 ER socket, Torx screw mounting), making it easy to integrate into existing tooling and maintain repeatable results in batch and unit production.
