Carbide insert 16 ER 28 W MTA Horn is a lathe insert designed for precision turning of full-profile BSP (G) cylindrical pipe threads conforming to ISO 228. The thread outline is based on a 55-degree Whitworth profile, which ensures tight and repeatable connections in plumbing and fasteners.
The 28 W geometry is dedicated to sizes with a pitch of 28 turns per inch (28 TPI), in particular: G 1/16" and G 1/8". The full profile forms the base and top of the coil in a single tool, guaranteeing compliance with outline tables and high surface quality. Carbide insert made of PVD-coated carbide ensures stable operation in carbon and alloy steels, cast iron, stainless steels and non-ferrous metals.
