Die UNS 1-27 HSSE INOX – special inch die for stainless steels
Die UNS 1-27 HSSE INOX is a professional tool for producing external threads with a nonstandard pitch in stainless and acid-resistant steels. Manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel HSSE in accordance with DIN 22568, it cuts threads with a diameter of 1 inch (25.4 mm) and a pitch of 27 threads per inch.

UNS (Unified National Special) designates a thread with an unusual combination of diameter and pitch. For a diameter of 1 inch, the standard values are: UNC 8 TPI, UNF 12 TPI, UNEF 20 TPI. A pitch of 27 TPI falls outside these series, so it is classified as UNS.
The Unified family also includes: UNC – the coarse-thread version, UNF – the fine-thread version, UNEF – the extra-fine-thread version, and UN – constant-pitch series: 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 28, or 32 threads per inch.
