Hand Tap M16x1.25 DIN 2181/2 6H HSS is designed for cutting fine-twist M16 metric threads with a pitch of one and one-quarter millimeters in structural steels and metal alloys with a strength of up to eight hundred mega pascals. The two-piece design - the first insertion threader and the second finishing threader - stabilizes the machining process, distributes loads and ensures the maintenance of a six H fit class.
Technical data: nominal diameter sixteen millimeters; pitch one and one-quarter millimeters; outline sixty degrees according to ISO 68-1; hole tolerance 6H according to ISO 965; right-hand thread; straight chip grooves to guarantee predictable evacuation. HSS ground version reduces micro chipping and stabilizes cutting edges. In accordance with DIN 2181/2, the tool uses a two-piece arrangement, and the organization of the work in the workshop is supported by Set Taps Manual M16x1.25. Recommended drill bit for the thread: fourteen and seventy-five hundredths of a millimeter; the use of coolant in the form of emulsion or active oil extends the life of the blades and improves the surface quality of the bottom of the coil.
Reference standards: DIN 2181/2 (execution), ISO 68-1 (sixty-degree outline), ISO 965 (6H tolerance). Their observance guarantees compliance with inspection instruments and predictable results in both unit and short-run production.

The set includes two threaders - the first ripper for initial guiding and the second finisher for final thread shaping.
Yes, M16x1.25 hand taps can be used for both through-holes and blind holes.
HSS M16x1.25 threaders are designed for low-carbon steel, aluminum alloys, brass and other easily machinable metals.
