Whitowrta tooling anneal BSW 3/16-24
Whitowrta 3/16-24 circular machine burnisher is a multi-cutting tool for cutting external threads. This is a uniform thread cutter, which means that it makes a thread in one pass, after less than 2 turns, or more precisely 1.75 P, a full thread is already made. The principle of the tool is to screw it on (like a nut on a bolt), during which the blades of the tool cut the thread. The tool is made of high-grade SW7M high-speed steel from the HSS family.
It is possible to use the dies both in manual and machine processing. An important issue when making threads by hand is the use of burnisher holders, thanks to which the proper execution of the thread is ensured and damage to the burnisher can be avoided. Burnishing dies have chip holes that are designed to drain the cut material, depending on the size of the burnisher, there can be usually from 3-6 holes. In the working part of the burnisher there are cutting parts (existing on both working parts) and a guiding part located in the center of the working part.
